I hear the tune of bells’ jingle,
The ice cream van is near.
Two grandchildren – no spare cash –
I hope he doesn’t drive past here!
“Popsicles! Popsicles! Popsicles! Popsicles!”
I have to defrost icicles;
The freezer’s full of ice.
I’ll have to scrape off bucketsful.
This is a job that won’t be nice.
“Icicles! Icicles! Icicles! Icicles!”
I snap off one big icicle.
I want to suck the ice.
I’d rather have a Popsicle,
But this is almost just as nice.
“Popsicle! Popsicle! Popsicle! Popsicle!”
